Truman's First Month

We went in for Truman's one month check-up this week and found out that he's doin' real good. He gained 2 lbs 3 oz (and to put that into perspective, normal babies should grow 1 lb 5 oz), grew 2 inches in length and the circumference of his head grew 2 inches as well.

Julie was a little concerned that she was feeding him for too long (which turned out to be right) but it was nice to know that he wasn't wasting anything he was getting :)
He seems to be making a habit of peeing and pooping all over the room when we go to the doctor too. Right after he got weighed, he started whizzing all over the place. Last time it was as we were getting ready to put on his diaper after he was weighed. We think he's just leaving his mark.

Here's some pictures of his growth over the month:

Softball Champs

My brother-in-law Brannon got a softball team together and asked that I play with him. Our first game was a little rough considering we were playing the previous year's champion, but after that, we dominated. We didn't lose a game, although a couple of them were pretty close...including the championship game.

The game was back and forth every inning. We would score a couple runs, then they would score a couple. We were up one run going into the last inning and they scored twice. Fortunately we got last bats though. The first two batters got out (one of whom was me...boo!), the third batter got on base because of an error. The next guy walked, after him, a double...so the game was tied. Brannon got up, and grounds to the short stop, who has been a vacuum all game long. He scoops it up, but because Brannon is so fast, and is already getting close to first base he had to hurry his throw, so he ended up throwing it high. Brannon was safe, our runner on third base scored and we were crowned champions.

All in all, an awesome season, we had a ton of fun and I can't wait to do it again.

Huber House

After several months of trying to sell our home, we finally did! Julie purchased the house in February of 2007, and moved in with her friends. Over the years Amanda Cross Gunnell, Karen Campbell, Meghan Hill Smith, Angela Smout Wells, Holly Harris, Kelsey & Kate Orme, Malorie Dobine, Alana Campbell and of course the infamous Rickae aka Rossey lived there.

We made a lot of memories in that place. It was the place we first met, where we had our first kiss, where we fell in love and where we found out we were going to have baby Truman. Other memories include: the big root beer kegger, Golden Spoon runs, playing on the water slide, going for runs and bike rides on the canal, hearing the roars of the crowds at the Chicago Cubs spring training facility, watching movies, chatting with the girls, Valentines Day paint party, scorpions (especially Meghan's first sighting), the burro and coyote lawn figurines, the dead bird in the dryer vent, the Star Trek costume, THE panic attack, the pass-through window, Rick jumping the fence to get away from the "server" (who ended up being Brannon) and Julie's first bathroom reno.

It was a wonderful home and although we felt excited and relieved to sell it, we couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness when we spent our last night there.

Rick is Da Man!

Monday, I got a phone call from Rick while he was at school. He was in calculus class and stepped out to tell me the good news...he got accepted to NAU's Pysical Thereapy program! We are so excited! He just had his interviews the previous Friday and he wasn't too sure about one of his interviews. He thought his interview with a practicing PT went well, but his interview with a faculty member was the one he wasn't too sure about. I guess they liked him though! (really, who doesn't like Rick?...not surprising to me or anyone else that knows him) Rick has worked so hard and been so humble about everything with school, but I like to brag! He is a smarty-pants! We are so blessed to have gotten into this program and we recognize the Lord's hand in it. We will be somewhat close to family and the in-state tuition is amazing.
Flagstaff here we come!!
